ACD of Hypertension and CKD workshop

Workshop cost: £130 (Warwick)

This workshop is designed for nurses and other clinicians who care for people with hypertension or chronic kidney disease (CKD).

Hypertension and CKD are both risk factors for cardiovascular disease but the link between these two conditions is often overlooked. NICE guidelines and QOF clinical indicators now highlight the importance of early detection and management of both conditions to reduce cardiovascular risk and prevent further progression of CKD.

This workshop is based on the latest guidance on the diagnosis and treatment of hypertension and CKD, including advice on how to optimise blood pressure control with ACE- inhibitors, calcium channel blockers and diuretics (ACD).

Taught by expert practising clinicians this interactive workshop uses informal lectures and case study based sessions to help you gain the knowledge and skills to better support your patients with these conditions.

You will learn about…

  • Identify causes of hypertension and CKD
  • Understand the impact of poor blood pressure control
  • Identify those at risk of hypertension and CKD
  • Recognise the significance of early detection and management
  • Support patients and colleagues in managing these conditions
  • Utilise current guidelines, protocols and quality indicators
