This course is accredited by the University of Hertfordshire, you will be required to register for the activity directly with them before the start date.

Cost: £655

Did you know study sessions are optional on this module? We know students benefit from face to face contact with a trainer, a chance to ask questions, and networking with other students. But if your location or your calendar mean you can’t attend the study sessions, you don’t need to worry – all the actual learning for the course is done online. So pick a start date to suit - you can still join the cohort and benefit from our great education!

To ensure you have the correct qualifications stipulated by the University to commence the Level 7 module, once your application is received, a member of the education team will contact you within 5 working days.

This module explores risk factors for common mental health issues in people with long term physical health conditions. Students will have the opportunity to engage in debate pertaining to theoretical approaches for the use of tools and methods to identify mental health problems.

There is an emphasis on the importance of person centred approaches; the module enables the student to study current research and evidence-based practice around interventions for mental health problems. Students will explore communication, interaction and working in partnership with patients, families and carers including signposting and referral to other services.Issues of equality, diversity, inclusion and safeguarding will be discussed in the context of key legislation, health policy and ethics.

Through a series of formal presentations, lectures and self-directed study, students will be able to articulate their rationale for a particular course of action in a range of clinical scenarios and reflect this discussion in their coursework.

Please note, start dates are the date a course will begin, and study sessions are not scheduled to be the same as the start date. Course code: 7FHH1187
