Introduction to Paediatric Asthma workshop
We are currently taking names for a waiting list for Paediatric Asthma workshop, to run in Warwick at the cost of £130 per head. As we ran this workshop in June 2019, we anticipate this will be towards the end of 2019 or early 2020. Please register interest below if you would like to be notified when we set a date.
This Introduction to Paediatric Asthma workshop is designed for healthcare professionals, including health visitors, school nurses and practice nurses, who care for children suffering from asthma – a condition which currently affects one in every eleven children in the UK, and which is becoming increasingly prevalent.
Taught by expert practising clinicians, this workshop has been developed as an introduction to paediatric asthma, particularly in primary care and community settings. It will help you to recognise and manage acute symptoms, to identify poor control of the condition and to decide when the patient should be referred on.
Through informal lectures and interactive practical sessions delivered in an informal and supportive environment, you will gain the confidence to effectively manage children with asthma at home, at school and in early years’ settings.
You will learn to:
- Understand the epidemiology and impact of asthma

- Apply BTS/SIGN guidelines in management
- Use inhaler devices
- Manage asthma in schools
