This course is designed for healthcare professionals who are responsible for performing, recording and interpreting spirometry in adults, or a combination of these. The course blends up to the minute eLearning with two supportive study days and equips you with the skills and knowledge necessary to achieve competence in this field and enabling you to assess your patients with confidence and effectively diagnose their respiratory disease if supported by clinical history.
Written by experts and developed in line with ARTP standards, the course is delivered by eLearning supported by two interactive study days facilitated by clinical experts in both spirometry and education. These provide practical support and problem solving to prepare you for assessment and entry onto the ARTP National Register via an online portfolio (submitted to ARTP) and practical assessment (by ARTP assessor), which is included in the cost of the course.
Our trainers will cover performing and recording on the first study day, and interpreting spirometry on the second study day. If you plan to apply for assessment to go onto the Register at Foundation level, you do not need to attend the second day.
Assessment for this course is not undertaken by Education for Health. We will prepare you for assessment and provide access to the portfolio and assessment process as part of the cost of your course, which is then carried out by an ARTP assessor.
You will need unlimited access to spirometry equipment including a calibration syringe and spirometer for regular use. You will need to able to show evidence of your ability to clean and disinfect the equipment as well as have regular access to a range of patients on whom you will perform the tests.

Our courses are removed from the website at least two days before the start date, so that students have all necessary information for their studies when they begin. Many of our courses fill quickly and are removed once all places are sold so we advise early booking to avoid disappointment.
